Groundworks N.I

All our pupils have been working with Robert Lee on Friday afternoons. Robert works for a company called Groundworks N.I and is helping our pupils to plant colourful flowers and paint bright and vibrant planters. We are currently growing peas and rosemary and are going to plant a selection of vegetables in our lovely planters. The front of our school will look beautiful and bright! Come and have a look at our hard work around the entrance of our school!

Our new House System

We have introduced a new House system to CCPS this year. The four Houses are Chichester, De Courcy, De Lacy and Swift. They are all named after famous historical figures who have had an influence in Carrickfergus. In September we held elections for our P7 House captains. To earn points for their House the children have to be kind to one another, have excellent behaviour and work hard in class. House captains are responsible for motivating their Houses and organising House competitions throughout the year. Their first competition was to design a House Mascot. These were made by using recycled materials. They are currently planning their next competition, so watch this space...

P1-P4 tree planting

P1-P4 enjoyed planting trees at the duck pond. They can't wait to see how their trees grow. As you can see from the photographs they had a great time!

CCPS presents, 'Star Wars'

Our whole school participated in a Christmas production this year called, 'Star Wars.' We were very proud of all our children for all the hard work and effort they put in.

Working hard in Primary 1/2

Mrs Leathem's Primary 1/2 class have been working very hard during Term One.

Primary 7 enjoyed their Pizza Party!

Our P7s worked extremely hard for their AQE test in Term One. They also have been working very hard in class. They were given a special treat and had a Pizza Party for an afternoon. There was great excitement when the pizzas were delivered to school!

Tesco's Farm to Fork programme

Each class enjoyed visiting Tesco to participate in their Farm to Fork programme. They sampled foods, learnt where different fruits and vegetables came from, sugared their own doughnuts and visited the walk-in freezers! All the children thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
